SUCCESSFUL POLICING OPERATION

SUCCESSFUL POLICING OPERATION

#VisibleLocalTrusted | Over the weekend, the Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out a dedicated operation targeting theft and shoplifting offences following a recent increase in reports across the area.

Working both in uniform and plain clothes, officers visited numerous local stores, spoke with retail staff, gathered intelligence, and spent time in areas identified as hotspots for offending.

The operation delivered positive results, with three separate arrests made over the course of the weekend. One of those arrested was also wanted in connection with seven other matters and has since been taken into custody.

We know the impact that theft and shoplifting can have on local businesses, staff and the wider community. Tackling retail crime remains a priority for your local policing team, and we will continue to work closely with businesses to identify offenders and bring them to justice.

If you witness suspicious behaviour or have information about those involved in retail crime, please report it to us via 101, online, or call 999 in an emergency.
